Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American advisor to the political process, was the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022. She is a part of the Democratic Party and previously served as the White House deputy Press Secretary (2009) and the White House deputy Communications Director (2009-2011), the spokesperson for the US Department of State (2013-15) and as the White House communications direct (2015-17). Psaki contributed to CNN's politics coverage from 2017 until 2020. Psaki began her career in 2001 as an official political contributor for CNN. She worked on the campaign for re-election of Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki then became deputy press secretary for John Kerry's presidential campaign. Psaki was the communications director for Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, and the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 until 2006. Psaki was also the press secretary to President Obama's 2012 reelection campaigns. [20] Psaki was named spokesperson for the United States Department of State in February 2013. [20] There was speculation that she was to replace Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary at the Department of State.[21] But Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30, 2014. In the year 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and remained until the close of the Obama administration.
